The ultimate Father’s Day gift guide 2017

With Father’s Day fast approaching (18th June if you’re wondering), we thought we’d pull together the ultimate gift guide for dads. You know so you don’t have to trawl the internet looking for awesome things. We have some amazing products to share with you too whether you’re spending £20 or £200. So in no particular order, here are our top picks for Father’s Day.

First up is the Braun Series 3 ProSkin (RRP £139.99) which is available from Amazon and ideal for #SensitiveDads. It offers time poor dads with a close soothing shave, providing skin efficiency, comfort and fuss free results. With advanced MicroComb technology, the Braun Series 3 ProSkin guides beard hairs into the cutting element of the trimmer reducing shave time and skin irritation. The three independent floating cutting elements and two SensoFoils adapt to the contours of the face providing a perfect gift for dads with spots, dryness or redness.Father’s Day is all about making the men in our life feel special and the Father’s Day book from The Book Of Everyone (from £7.95 to £49.95) is an excellent way to do exactly that. Just by providing a few details, you can create a unique, personalised and tailored book in seconds. What’s more it’s beautifully designed by a whole host of talented folk, here’s a sneaky peek at a couple of pages. I know six year old POD will be amused to discover her Daddy shares 50% of this DNA with a banana. For football lovers, how about a Personalised Football Team History Book (RRP £45) from Me And My Sport? It’s a lovely way to keep a record of a team’s triumphs and tribulations with actual news stories from the time. Starting from the 1900’s, each book covers the history of of most major clubs with black and white pages to 2006 and colour thereafter.

More of a rugby fan? What about this Handmade Brown Leather 1940s style Rugby Ball (RRP £37.50) from Vintage Sport? This stylish full-sized vintage ball is the quintessential gift for rugby loving dads and made from 100% genuine leather.

For dads that like to achieve the wow factor outdoors, there’s the Forest & Co Firepit (from £67) which is crafted in heavy gauge raw steel. Its three legs keep it sturdy but there are two handles on either side making it easy to carry around before it’s used.

With summer fast approaching, how about a Gentlemans Hardware portable BBQ set (£54.95) from Amazon. Ideal for camping and festivals, this lightweight, vintage style suitcase features the words “the adventure begins”. It’s super cool too don’t you think?

Of course there had to be some tools in our Father’s Day gift guide. Rather aptly, these come in the form of this 18pc BBQ Bamboo set (£32.39) from Garden Trends. With a handy black carry case, the set includes a spatula, fork, tongs, knife, cleaning brush, basting brush, 4 skewers and 8 corn skewers.

Hotel Chocolat has a wealth of Father’s Day gifts but the Classic Cabinet with Port (RRP £70) caught our eye. It’s a collection of their finest chocolates which have been matched with a bottle of Tawny Port. As you can appreciate it’s a much more exciting gift than socks and you can add a personalised message when you checkout.

For dads that need a little excitement in their lives, why not treat them to a Sipsmith Gin Tasting And Distillery Tour Experience (RRP £80) from Not On The High Street. Of course this is a gift but this experience is for two people so you could always invite yourself along. It includes a bottle of Sipsmith Gin and weekday tickets to their copper distillery which is the first in London for 200 years.

If you’re looking for really special, we love these smooth coffee bean cufflinks (RRP £185) from Tiffany & Co. The charcoal-colour cuff links in ruthenium over copper are designed by Elsa Peretti and a symbol of life’s beginning.

If an adrenaline rush is what’s needed, sending dad to the skies is another option. He can take a flying Lesson (RRP £249.50, currently £139) with Virgin Experience Days. Not only will he feel the thrill of piloting a light aircraft, he’ll be able to observe as someone takes the controls in this Land Away Double Flying Lesson. Time spent behind the controls counts towards a Private Pilot’s licence too.

Prefer to take it easy on the ground? This personalised gift set (£86.43) from Carve On is great for golf lovers. With an engraved wooden gift box, the set comes with a leather scorecard holder and golf bag tag – both of which can be personalised. There are stainless steel screw fittings and a matching leather strap for attaching it securely to a golf bag. Personalisation is free.

Staying with the leather theme, what about a classic Hunter flask (£55) from Aspinal of London. The Aspinal stainless steel flask (suitable for cold drinks) and cup set hand bound in Smooth Cognac Calf Leather. The flask and two cups are made from the finest stainless steel and are hand bound in beautiful quality leather. An engraving service is available as well if you’re wanting to add initials.

An interesting night in for the foodie dad comes in the form of a three month Friday night curry subscription (£22) from The Spicery. The Discoverer subscription comes with all the fresh spices and recipes required to make a delicious curry spread. Every month a new curry spice box arrives in the post with all the spices measured out to make a curry spread for four with recipes from all over the world.

The Monopoly Wooden Edition (used from £29.50) at Amazon is ideal for nostalgia lovers. This collectible brings back the original game from one of the very first editions with vintage-looking components, a built-in bankers tray and visual history of the decades. A wonderful trip down memory lane.

How about a pebble art family portrait (from £20) by the PebbleArtShop on Etsy. With pebbles hand picked from the coast, family portraits are created with high strength glue which cannot be seen. Each picture is mounted in a frame behind glass. Quotes and messages can be incorporated too if requested.

As children become older they do of course input on what should be purchased for their Daddy on Father’s Day. These are just a few of the many options available, kicking off with Why My Daddy Is Brilliant book (£16.95) by Lou Brown Designs. It’s a beautifully illustrated children’s book which is personalised and designed with space for kids to draw in or add photographs to.

For Peppa Pig fans, there’s the Personalised Peppa Pig: Daddy’s Words of Wisdom (from £14.99) by Penwizard. This is a newly adapted, personalised Peppa Pig book which is full of tongue-in-cheek parenting advice. For the first time, up to three children can star with their Daddy and there’s a younger child avatar to make each family more recognisable.

Daddy always needs a new mug for Father’s Day and we love this McLaggan Smith Quentin Blake Mug (£9.50) from John Lewis. Best known for his collaboration with Roald Dahl, this bone china mug features a design by Quentin Blake and the wording ‘No 1 Dad’.

Finally we had to include this superb Personalised Dad Gift Tin (£12.95) from Coconutgrass. Each tin is personalised and comes packed with a selection of items which define what a dad needs to survive. Like earplugs to help him zone out from everyone, a screwdriver to help fix things and a paper plane because everyone wants to be Maverick. There’s also a breakfast in bed card as all dads need to be spoiled sometimes don’t they?
