Win £50 to spend on Konfidence swim essentials

Last summer POD wore a Konfidence swim jacket for the first time while on holiday. It made a huge difference to her water confidence having got ‘the fear’ a couple of years earlier. She began swimming lessons in January and this week we had a huge breakthrough in that she submerged her head completely to retrieve a dive stick! Being selected as a Konfidence #swimologist family could not have come at a better time as we’re sure this will be the year POD learns to swim. To celebrate Konfidence is offering one lucky reader the opportunity to win £50 to spend on their swimming essentials.

Konfidence has seen tremendous growth over the last 15 years as a result of their Original Swim Jacket. It’s helped tens of thousands of children learn to swim and enjoy water play at the pool or by the beach. With family holidays in France and Spain plus a trip to Splash Landings at Alton Towers booked, it’s reassuring to know POD will be safer. We also have a rather splendid lido located locally to us so we’re looking forward to checking it out once the season begins.

The Original Konfidence Swim Jacket (£26.99) is the number one selling neoprene swimming buoyancy aid for children aged 1-7 years across UK and Europe. It has built-in buoyancy and an easy-to-use float system which aids swimming development. Each jacket has a bright yellow high-visibility back and comes with 100% UV protection on the all covered areas. The ‘body warmer’ style design wraps around a child’s torso, keeping the child’s arms free, which is essential when they’re learning to swim. There are a range of surf and sport style designs available with new high-end designs coming next month. Konfidence has commissioned a leading UK swimwear designer to create these which include striped and polka dot styles for girls with pretty bows and frilly pattered detailing. For boys there is a smart new navy striped ‘Dolphin Patrol’ jacket and clownfish character design.

Shortie Wetsuits (£24.99) are to the same spec as adult wetsuits so kids are protected from chilly winds and cool water. The neoprene fabric provides 100% UV protection and the bright colours ensure you can keep an eye on them. If you’re looking for the more traditional, the Konfidence Floatsuit (£22.99) is suitable for kids aged 1-5 and made from a soft Lycra fabric. There are eight removable floats that can be removed for tailored buoyancy – much like the Original Konfidence Swim Jackets. They also have 50+ UPF sun protection making the the Konfidence Floatsuit great for holidays too.

There is a wide range of swimming products available to view on the Konfidence website with the new high-end designs (one of which shown above) arriving in May. You’ll also find a whole host of toys and accessories. POD is already a fan of the Flashing Blinkies (£5.99 for 3 character multi-pack) which feature a brand new floating, flashing duck! They’re a great way to encourage kids to splash in the bath or keep them calm if water is splashed in their face. You can also take them to the local pool as the familiarity will help settle them in their surroundings.

POD has been using DiveStiks (£9.99 for four) in her swimming lessons and they’ve been invaluable. Nicknamed ‘Mr Seal’ its been a great way to build her confidence. Made from soft, flexible Neoprene, they’re great for the pool as they sink then stand on the pool floor. As was the case with POD they are designed to aid and encourage submersion and control. The Quikfinz Dolphin Float (£2.99) is another great way to encourage water play as it can be used as a target to swim towards or be pushed along. There’s also the inflatable Neoprene Swim Ball (£6.49) which is great for throwing and catching encouraging kids to swim that little bit further! Konfidence also has a range of products available for outside the pool such as the hooded Poncho Towel (£11.99) made from soft white towelling and the Roll & Go Changing Mat (£9.99).

We are thrilled to be a Konfidence #swimologist family particularly at such an exciting time for POD. She yelled across an Olympic sized pool last week “Mummy did you see me, I put my head under the water”. Given how terrified she was two years ago, it’s a truly magical thing to witness. I can’t imagine what she’ll be like when she actually swims!
