The Easter Egg Hunt

Good Friday saw POD partake in her first Easter Egg Hunt after Daddy hid foil covered eggs in flowerbeds and bushes around the garden. The first couple were more visible to get her started – a look of joy spread across her face when she found them.

After launching herself off the decking (she’s jumping off everything at the moment), she continued in her quest to find eggs.

She found eggs in flowerbeds, bushes and in the grass. One even slid down her slide!

When POD spotted this golden egg above her head, she wondered how she was going to get it.

But after taking instruction from Daddy, the egg dropped to the ground and POD added it to her collection. She nearly missed one Daddy had camouflaged in the magnolia tree!

Once all ten eggs had been found, POD sat outside her playhouse enjoying every mouthful of her first chocolate egg. Mummy and Daddy ‘helped’ by eating a couple of eggs themselves.

But the fun didn’t end there, we scoured the garden for dandelion clocks and blew what we found.

The swing then became the focus with POD wanting to be pushed “high, high up in the sky”. Raucous giggles followed until the swing slowed and the process began once again.

It was a lazy Good Friday spent mostly in the garden enjoying the simple things in life. What more could you ask for?

It looks like you all had a wonderful day! We are doing an egg hunt this morning for Milin and his best friend in our garden. It will be there first one too – I can’t wait! X

That looks like a lot of fun. Sadly the weather had broken by Easter Sunday for us, so we did an indoor hunt.

Egg hunts are just wonderful, children adore the fun of hunting. We had ours yesterday too and it will be my Country Kids post for next week! You did so well to fit this in with a hectic weekend away as well. POD is a lucky girl. Thank you for sharing on Country Kids as well as What’s the Story.

You’re right, what more could you ask for on a holiday? Glad you managed to sneak in a bit of chocolate for yourselves too 🙂

  • Notmyyearoff April 21, 2014 at 8:55 am

It sounds like she has a nice little stash now and that picture of her eating her egg is so lovely. Great moment captured there. Weirdly z doesn’t like chocolate! If it was a jelly sweets egg he’d devour it in seconds I think.

What fun! Would so love to do an Easter Egg hunt in our garden too, sadly we can’t, especially not with an overexcitable pup following Little T around. I bet Doc will find the eggs first 🙂 Love the photos of POD, so cute!

What a great first Easter Egg Hunt – it’s Easter Monday here and I still haven’t done mine with the boys (as I have just been reminded) – in my defence Good Friday isn’t a bank Holiday in France and they were at school, Easter Saturday was taken up with normal sport so they were hardly here at the same time and it was raining yesterday. Best get and do it today then!!

You have a stunning garden I am so very jealous of. With the sun out today all I could think is I want to get out and garden. And do my hanging baskets and trim the hedges and do something with that awful back yard of mine. You have just stepped up my motivation by ten fold. lol So glad you had such a fab easter and egg hunt. It’s one of my favorite holidays and fun activities to do. Pod looks stunning as ever. She should be a model. Love the swing photo. Still trying to get my two to like the swings. MM likes it more than Buba but it’s a work in progress. Thanks for hosting my lovely.

great that you did it on friday when the weather was good! Ours got rained off on Sunday (well it moved indoors which is not quite the same). Love the dandelion photo and the swing photo at the end. x

  • Tarana April 21, 2014 at 9:48 pm

It looks like she had the most wonderful time, especially since it was her first time. It’s a good thing you got to pitch in with the chocolate eggs!

  • Sam @ And then the fun began... April 21, 2014 at 10:59 pm

Your garden looks amazing! And it looks like POD really enjoyed her hunt which was clearly designed to challenge her!! 🙂 So much fun these little hunts – I remember when I was pregnant (first time) saying that the things I looked forward to about becoming a parent were nativity plays, easter egg hunts, sledging in snow, and summer sports days! So lovely to have these opportunities. X

  • Mummy of Two April 22, 2014 at 8:44 am
