The Alphabet Project | K is for kites

Welcome to the Alphabet Photography Project and letter K! Thank you to everyone that joined in last week.

It seems so long ago since we were in France but it was only a few weeks ago. One of the places we visited while we were exploring the Opal Coast was Wissant. At the beach, we were greeted by hundreds upon hundreds of kites and kite surfers too. I’ve never seen anything like it before and I’m sure unlikely too again. Just fantastic.

The Alphabet Project | J is for joker

Welcome to the Alphabet Photography Project and letter J! Thank you to everyone that joined in last week.

Given it’s POD’s 5th birthday a month today (yes that is Christmas Day!), it seemed only right she featured. She’s got such a great character but like most children her age, she’s definitely a bit of a joker too!

The Alphabet Project | H is for hollow

Welcome to the Alphabet Photography Project and letter H! Thank you to everyone that joined in last week.

This photograph was taken at Hatchlands Park which is a National Trust property local to us. What we love about it most of all is the 400 acres of parkland and woodland that surround the mansion itself. POD is forever climbing trees there and attempting to launch herself off them! This one however she wanted to climb into!

The Alphabet Project | G is for gargantuan

Welcome to the Alphabet Photography Project and letter G! Thank you to everyone that joined in last week.

This photograph was taken at Whipsnade Zoo during their Elephantastic weekend. This remarkable weekend-long celebration of these majestic creatures marked the world-wide Elephant Appreciation Weekend, raising money for international science and conservation charity ZSL’s Asian elephant conservation and research projects.

The Alphabet Project | F is for Frensham

Welcome to the Alphabet Photography Project and letter F! Thank you to everyone that joined in last week.

Having spent a bit of time exploring Northern France recently, something French would be the obvious choice this week. I thought I’d select an image from closer to home through – the wonderful Frensham Little Pond. Managed by the National Trust, it’s a beautiful spot and even has its own little beach!

The B&W Photography Project | Week #68

Hello everyone, welcome to week #68 of the Black and White Photography Project. Thank you so much to those of you that joined in last time.

These photographs were taken by the river at Summerleaze beach in Bude on a recent trip to North Devon (with 13 other bloggers). As well as being a great location for families and surfers, sea fishing is also popular – either from the shore or through boat fishing trips.

The Alphabet Project | E is for euphoric

Welcome to the fourth week of the Alphabet Photography Project and letter E! Thank you to everyone that joined in last week.

These photographs of POD were taken in the garden when we were reviewing some pieces from the new Mamas & Papas Liberty range. Little did we know how entertaining she’d find me pretending to tickle her while she was on the swing. Even just the act of following her general direction kept her amused. I just love moments like this and having a permanent memory makes them that little bit better.

The Alphabet Project | D is for daydreaming

Welcome to the fourth week of the Alphabet Photography Project and letter D! Thank you to everyone that joined in last week.

This photograph was taken when we were at Whipsnade Zoo a few weeks ago. We stopped for a time to admire the fabulous views which were pretty special on such a clear day. Just before we left to see the giraffes, POD took it upon herself to stand on a nearby bench to take it all in. I would have loved to have known what she was thinking about. One thing was for sure, she was miles away!

The Alphabet Project | C is for Cervione

Welcome to the third week of the Alphabet Photography Project and letter C! Thank you to everyone that joined in last week.

There seems to be a bit of a travel theme going on after Boulogne for letter B. This photograph was taken a couple of months back when we were in Corsica. The historic Cervione is a little known village with wooden shutters, cobbled streets and quirky cafes. One of the first things we saw when we got out of the taxi from the nearby Mark Warner resort was this little house in a hill. The views they have must be absolutely magnificent as their patio faces seaward. Just beautiful.

The Alphabet Project | B is for Boulogne

Welcome to the second week of the Alphabet Photography Project and letter B. Thank you to everyone that joined in with letter A. I must say it’s so nice to have this project back again, despite being crazy busy I really did miss it.

This photograph of the Notre Dame in Boulogne was taken on a recent visit to the old town which is just beautiful. It formed part of a trip to Northern France and we found some absolute gems along the way. Our first stop was Cap Blanc Nez on the Opal Coast where we discovered bomb craters from World War II, a huge obelisk which commemorates the Dover Patrol and a lake that houses three enormous concrete bunkers.
