This week didn’t start well but thankfully improved after the major car fail! Walking to nursery has had its perks in that there have been some wonderful things to photograph, POD’s enjoyed it too. Welcome to Project 365: Week #10.
Day 61
I was en route to the Photography Show for a portfolio review when the car lost its power. This view of the M40 was taken from the passenger side while I was waiting for the AA. They towed me off the hard shoulder and after a mechanic had taken a look at the car, I was towed home. It was a sad day but I did cheer myself up with chocolate and wine later.
Day 62
No car meant no gymnastics so we painted instead. Hand painting is obligatory!
Day 63
We traveled to and from nursery by foot today. It’s uphill there and next to a busy road but you’d be surprised by what you can find. This twisty leaf, moss on a letterbox and what looked like a sprout featured in frosty mornings – a photography post about the journey. I love this photograph for it’s simplicity although it does look like it’s floating!
Day 64
This is part of Dapdune Wharf on the River Wey which burst its banks in the recent storms. The towpath is visible again now but it was blocked by a fallen tree.
Day 65
We took a different route to nursery today and saw this. A cluster of crab-like bouquets!
Day 66
This is POD looking after Mummy’s sunglasses on the way to nursery – a glimpse into the future perhaps! The car was finally looked at today and the turbo has gone *takes out second mortgage*
Day 67
A gorgeous day today – POD and I had our first ice-cream of the year while Daddy was in Homebase. Once home we found this little fellow on the steps of POD’s playhouse!
If you enjoy this blog, please nominate us in the MAD Blog Awards 2014.
Charly these are beautiful pictures. I love the frost on the leaf and the ladybird. And of course POD looks cool! xx
Thank you so much – quite amusing to have a frosty leaf one day and a ladybird another!
Gorgeous photos. The ladybird looks so shiny! You know you’ve got my MADs photography nomination! 🙂
Thank you Sarah – the ladybird was very shiny! Fast too, would not stay still for me. Thank you so so much for the nomination 🙂
Gorgeous photos as ever. Love the bouquet of buds, and the ladybird, and handpainting is always a must! #project365
Thank you Kate. Was amazing to see a ladybird today, well two of them although one kept escaping!
You are brave doing hand painting – normally wait for nice weather and do it outside! I adore the ladybird photo – it’s early for them and I hope the car is back with you soon x
We have washable paint and a wipe down tablecloth – usually all cleared up in 5 minutes. POD likes to make a mess! So funny seeing a ladybird today, was almost beside myself! Fingers crossed on the car, it better run like a dream!!!
Stunning photo’s Charly! Gorgeous! I LOVE the ladybird one! Sorry to hear about the car! x
Thank you Jo, really kind of you. So chuffed to see a ladybird today and for it to stay still enough for me to capture it!
the ladybird almosts looks polished. Some times it is nice to be forced into walking instead of the car, sorry to hear it is going to cost an arm and a leg. Had mine in the garage this week, but it was only £40. The frosted leaf is very pretty, and I love the frozen droplets on the grass blased on it.
That’s very true on the car front Elaine – the walk hasn’t done my pelvis any good but I really need the exercise and the weather has been good. It is a very shiny ladybird, there were two of them whizzing around all of the place!
I love the frosty leaf and the ladybird is gorgeous – I haven’t seen any yet this year but I did see a butterfly today!
Oh wow that’s amazing, I’ve not seen one in the garden yet. Such a contrast isn’t it between the frosty leaf and the ladybird. Come on Spring!
Sorry to hear you missed the show, such a shame, and a pain about the car :(. Fab picture of POD hand painting, she looks like she had a blast!
They’re trying to re-arrange the portfolio review although gutted to miss the show too! POD loved her painting – hand painting in particular is so much fun 🙂
Ouch on the turbo going. Hope it’s fixed soon.
Lovely pics – so nice to see some unusual images of things you might not usually look out for or notice.
Thank you Emma – so nice to spot things on the way to nursery. It’s not a very exciting walk but I’ve spotted some gems 🙂
Not good news about the car, urgh! Your photos are stunning as always, that ladybug has left me speechless, it’s so perfect !
Thank you so much, was delighted to see a ladybird today! Gutted about the car but these things happen *she says through gritted teeth* 🙂
Cool ladybird photo. Sorry about your car. My OHs car has been experiencing similar problems recently and it’s so annoying. I hope you manage to manage to re-arrange a portfolio review. You take brilliant photos!
Thank you so much Tas, was great to see the ladybird today. Hopefully spring is on its way. Fingers crossed on the portfolio review, waiting for them to come back to me 🙂
Your photos are great but the ladybird and the green hand have to be my favorite 🙂 x
Thank you very much – so nice to see a ladybird today!
oh no to cars they are a pain in that ass!! i do hope your up and running again soon honey, POD looks so big in these pictures xx
Thanks lovely, it’s an expensive problem but hopefully the car will be back soon. POD is growing up way too fast I know 🙂
I love looking at your photos every week!!!! Just wow to the ladybird x
You’re too kind but thank you 🙂
Pod looking rather cool there, and very on trend with her sun kissed hair!
She looks a bit too cool for a 3 year old doesn’t she! Nice to see some sunshine streaks 🙂
Love the green hand and the sunglasses 🙂 The ladybird shot is just stunning. So sorry about the car, what a pain, and I hope they manage to rearrange the review. At least it seems to have been a nice week for walking x
Thanks Sara – POD loves painting (and Mummy’s sunglasses it seems!). Delighted it’s been a good week for walking, we’ve been so lucky!
Beautiful photos like always – but how cool does Pod look!
Thank you Kriss. POD looks a little too cool doesn’t she!
It’s a shame you miss the photography show…. cars they can be such a pain!! At least you didn’t have to worry about going to the gym this week. I love your ladybird photo, it’s so shiny.
Thank you. Was gutted about the show but hopefully they’re rearranging the review at least. Was gymnastics this week, POD’s only recently started going. She loves it but she’s not so keen on the warm up/down though!
Oh no to the car, fingers crossed its all sorted soon. Love the canal side cottages and the frosty leaf looks like an unseasonal chrysalis. Always nice to spot things on walks 🙂
Thank you. It’s great seeing pretty things in a less pretty environment isn’t it! POD and the leaf were my favourite until the ladybug came along 🙂
Ladybird and POD with the glasses are the ones for me, all great photos though.
Thank you Fiona – they’re my favourites too 🙂
That ladybird shot looks unreal! Lovely to have been out in the sun a bit this week x
We’ve been so lucky this week we really have. Amazed to see a ladybird yesterday but have spotted several today and butterflies too 🙂
oh hello little fella great photos x
Thank you very much 🙂
Glad to hear you’ve got the car sorted – what a week! Every cloud though hey? So lovely to see bits of nature you would never normally stop to look at. Also loving that green hand!
It’s been good getting some fresh air and chatting to POD en route. Will be good to get the car back, hoping there are no more problems to be found once the turbo is replaced. Keep your fingers crossed!
Your photos are lovely! I especially like the frost on the grass and the sweet ladybug.
Thank you very much Peg – weird to get the two in the same week!
I love day 66 picture POD looks so cute 🙂 hope you have a great week x
Thank you Kirsty 🙂
Ahh so sorry about your car and missing the show. I adore that pic of the ladybird, its shell is so shiny. mich x
Thank you Mich – was gutted about the show but glad I didn’t get stranded further afield!
That’s a brilliant ladybird shot
Thank you very much 🙂
Boo to car misery.
Yay to ice creams, ladybirds, and springtime walks 🙂
It’s rubbish isn’t it! Here’s to Spring coming 🙂
Sorry to hear about your car. I remember all four fuel injectors went in my car after only having it 5 months. Costly things are cars! Lots of gorgeous photos though!
Ouch that must have been expensive! Thank you 🙂
The photo of the river is beautiful, as is the ladybird. I feel your pain over car problems – I hope you can get yours fixed, mine is going to the scrap yard this week 🙁
Thank you very much. They’re so expensive cars although we’d not had any problems until then!
The cluster shot is my absolute fav! xx #betterphotosproject
Thank you Lucy 🙂
Woo another Ladybird! I got one too!
I like the shot of the Wharf, you’d never think it was affected by the horrid weather.
It’s so good to see them isn’t it, surely a sign that Spring is coming! The wharf is beautiful, so lovely to see it looking that way again 🙂
Oh you and that 60mm lens of yours produce some wonderful photographs! Love the frosty leaf and dew photo, and Pod’s bright green hand.
Thanks for linking up to Project 365.
You’re too kind but thank you 🙂
Hope you can fix the car without spending too much. Some great photos as always – loving the leaf shot.
Thank you Erica. Was expensive the car but had to be done 🙂
[…] POD would have loved to play in the snow and build a snowman but we’ve not seen a flake! We’ve barely had any frost either – weirdly I captured this mossy clump and a ladybird in the same week! […]
Love the lady bird and love Pod’s green hand; it almost looks in 3D ! X
Thank you lovely 🙂
Gulp sorry to hear about the car. I love the sunglasses photo, she’ll soon be wanting her own pair
It’s been costly the car! It is back at least now though. Looks like a glimpse into the future that sunglasses photo, she has her own but likes Mummy’s!
