Surrey’s enchanting sculpture park

Nestled in woodland in Churt, near Farnham is The Sculpture Park. It’s the world’s largest sculpture exhibition which showcases 650 sculptures by 300 sculptors. The exhibits are continually changing so there is always something new to discover with almost all sculptures for sale. It really is one of Surrey’s hidden gems as POD and I discovered when we visited.

#UKexplore in July 2019

What with it being busy at work and the end of the school year (how has POD finished Year 3 already?!), July seemed to pass in a flash. That said, we managed to squeeze in a trip to Cornwall to visit JD’s uncle. He’s just a few minutes walk from Perranporth beach which is just idyllic. Perfect for POD and a wonderful place to take a step back, relax and appreciate the important things in life. We had glorious weather too which always helps doesn’t it?

Barracudas Activity Camps: School holiday childcare

Eight-year-old POD is heading to a Barracudas Activity Day Camp for the third time this summer. She’s always really excited about the varied activities on offer and the camp she attends has a pool as well which is an added bonus! POD loves that she can pick between two activities for each of the six daily sessions. This means one day could include activities like tennis, cheerleading and archery and another aqua slide, pop lacrosse and foot rounders! As a working parent, it’s the best feeling in the world picking your daughter up to hear she’s had “the best day ever”. The journey home usually comprises of her excitedly talking about what she’s been doing, the friends she’s made and how great the team are.

With the school holidays fast approaching, we’ll no doubt be ticking a few more National Trust places we’ve not explored off the list. We do enjoy returning to our favourites too and the beautiful Frensham Little Pond is certainly one of those.

#UKexplore in May 2019

How’s everyone’s half-term been? We’re often away but with so much on at work, and various other things, it just wasn’t possible to escape. I say that but I was in Italy a couple of weeks ago! We’ve managed to enjoy a little of the great outdoors this month at least though. Over the Bank Holiday weekend, we took a nice walk along the canal before heading to the Surrey County Show.
