The importance of play

POD has the most wonderful imagination and I love her attitude to play. She can often be heard chatting away to her ‘friends’ and it’s great to hear even if she should be asleep! Baby Annabell is a firm favourite and POD is lucky that one of her grandmas has made a whole host of clothes for her. Baby Annabell’s outfits are shared among POD’s other dollies although on occasions teddies have been spotted donning woolly dresses and pretty bonnets!

The B&W Photography Project | Week #59

Hello everyone, welcome to week #59 of the Black and White Photography Project. Thank you so much to those of you that joined in last time.

This week I thought I’d share a couple of photographs from a recent wander round the beautiful parkland and ancient woodland at Hatchlands Park. Owned by the National Trust, it’s local to us and the perfect place to blow away a few cobwebs.

Back to school with Marks and Spencer

It really doesn’t seem that long ago since we took POD to nursery for the first time aged 11 months. Yet here we are with just a few weeks to go until she starts school. It will be a big change having spent over three years at the same place but one I’m sure it will be good for her. POD has been ready for school for some months now and she’s desperate to learn how to read.

Cascade de L’Ucelluline, Santa Maria Poggio

The stunning Cascade de L’Ucelluline is located on the border between the villages of Santa Maria Poggio and San Nicolao in Corsica. We’d heard about this hidden waterfall through staff at the San Lucianu Beach Resort.

We spent the majority of our time utilising the activities on resort. We’d also visited the magnificent village of Cervione for a couple of hours so I was excited to see what else the local area had to offer. With the age limit for the walk 14+, POD stayed on resort with Daddy that afternoon while I headed to the waterfall with a few fellow bloggers and our Mark Warner Guide.

What’s The Story? | 17th August 2015

Hello everyone, welcome to What’s The Story for w/c 17th August. Thank you to everyone that joined in last week.

Our #whatsthestory post this week focuses on Cascade de L’Ucelluline, a waterfall located in the Santa Maria Poggio region of Corsica. I took a trip there when we holidayed with Mark Warner recently. It was the best thing ever to take a swim in the cool water after walking in thirty degree heat for an hour. Absolute bliss!

The B&W Photography Project | Week #58

Hello everyone, welcome to week #58 of the Black and White Photography Project. Thank you so much to those of you that joined in last time.

This week I thought I’d share a couple of garden photos. One of POD actually looking directly at camera and the other when she decided she wanted to take some photographs. She looks a little too comfortable with that SLR!

What’s The Story? | 10th August 2015

Hello everyone, welcome to What’s The Story for w/c 10th August. I hope you’re having a marvellous time enjoying the Summer holidays and the sunshine we’ve had of late.

This weeks #whatsthestory post is about our holiday in Corsica last month – quite a few photos I’m afraid! We packed a lot into our week – from tennis and sailing to swimming, volleyball and exploring. It was pretty memorable too as POD swum for the very first time ever.

The B&W Photography Project | Week #57

Hello everyone, welcome to week #57 of the Black and White Photography Project. Thank you so much to those of you that joined in last time.

These photographs were taken at a beautiful square in the stunning Cervione on the Costa Verde. The photograph above shows the steps of the Cathedrale de Saint Erasme – a former Roman Catholic Cathedral and a national monument of France. To the left of it is a restaurant almost hidden from view, if you blinked you’d miss it. It was such a beautiful place to wander around although very hot. Naturally we had to stop for some refreshments not long after arriving!
