Many of you know Katy Hill from her time on Blue Peter. These days the TV and radio presenter can be heard on Heart breakfast although you may have seen her on ITV’s This Morning as well. She’s married to producer and presenter Trey Farley and they have two children – daughter Kaya who is nine and son Akira who recently celebrated his sixth birthday.
Welcome to the Alphabet Photography Project and letter M! Thank you to everyone that joined in last week.
For this week’s letter, I thought I’d share an image from one of those bright blue sky days. Taken not in the summer but just a few days ago. Although it was bitterly cold, it was beautifully sunny and I just couldn’t resist capturing it. I love days like this!
This is a particularly nostalgic time of year. As I glance at the Christmas tree adorned with decorations from five years ago, I can’t help but smile. I remember that time so clearly, I suspect I always will. The first dump of snow arrived early December and I had to work from home for several days as we were snowed in. Two weeks later I went on maternity leave.
Hello everybody, welcome to What’s The Story for w/c 14th December. Thank you to everyone that joined in last time.
Can you believe we’re only two weeks away from Christmas! I don’t know about you but it seems to have come around even quicker this year. We still have lots to do before we grab a few days off and no doubt over indulge! Before then we have POD’s nativity (in which she seems to be playing King Herod), Christmas jumper day plus we need to finish our shopping.
Hello everyone, welcome to week #75 of the Black and White Photography Project. Thank you so much to those of you that joined in last time.
This photograph was taken at the National Trust owned Winkworth Arboretum which is one of my favourite places especially in Autumn. The trees around this boathouse turn red, orange and yellow but there are colourful hues wherever you look. The red acers are always an absolute treat.
The Doves are huge advocates of the National Trust and we’re lucky to have so many properties local to us. We venture outside the Surrey Hills whenever time allows and Mottisfont has been on the ‘must see’ list for a while. Located in a sheltered valley near Romsey in Hampshire, the country house is set in the most magnificent grounds with ancient trees, lawns and streams to explore.
With the POD Father working full-time in London again, responsibility for school drop offs, after school pick-ups and getting POD ready for bed has sat with yours truly. The latter is a timely process which involves the usual feeding, bathing and story telling – not to mention multiple sleep delaying tactics! We’re a week into the new routine now and it’s working well for the most part. I’m enjoying spending more time in the kitchen although it’s a little dangerous when it involves making absolute treats like this amazing cottage pie.
Welcome to the Alphabet Photography Project and letter L! Thank you to everyone that joined in last week.
There were lots of words I had in mind for letter L but London just seemed so apt given how much time I spent there. These photographs of the London Eye was taken just before the Rugby World Cup on one of my many wanders along the Southbank. It’s such a great spot, lovely and peaceful in the morning and buzzing with people in the evening.
Having thoroughly enjoyed making pizza at home last month, POD was thrilled to attend a birthday party at Pizza Express. We weren’t sure what the agenda was but POD secretly hoped it involved making or eating pizza. Luckily for her it was both! Before then however she got to catch up with some friends, including the birthday girl, before embarking on a spot of colouring and much hand washing. As we’d rushed straight from gymnastics to Pizza Express, she wasn’t in the most appropriate attire. We made the best of it and her clothes were mostly protected by a plastic apron anyway. She was so proud to wear a chef’s hat, even proudly stood for a photo!
Hello everybody, welcome to What’s The Story for w/c 7th December. Thank you to everyone that joined in last time.
It’s hard to believe we’re only 3 weeks away from Christmas now, the time seems to have flown past so quickly recently. With POD turning five on Christmas Day itself, I’m sure we’re in denial though!
