Situated in a superb 160 acre setting, the Equestrian Park is a stones throw away where from where we’ve been staying in Le Touquet. Regarded as one of the finest in France, it has an equestrian centre, racecourse and offers show jumping courses too. Having loved the pony rides she’s had thus far, it seemed an ideal place for POD to have a lesson.
Last month we wrote about the #TennisForKids initiative which was set up by the LTA on the back of the Aegon GB Davis Cup Team’s historic win last November. The LTA is passionate about growing the game, investing in grass roots tennis and encouraging as many children as possible give the game a go – the #TennisForKids initiative being just one of the ways they’re doing it.
“Glamping is likely to satisfy any city slicker seeking a little refuge in nature – without foregoing any of life’s luxuries”. So what can you expect from the new Explorer Glamping at Chessington World of Adventures?
There’s been much crafting in the Dove household recently, even the POD Father has been getting in on the act. After the rather spectacular Maleficent costume he made for POD last year, he’s been busy creating a pterodactyl outfit for her dinosaur disco! POD and I have also been making some weather crafts thanks to the brilliant team at Bostik who sent us some absolute gems to fuel our creativity.
#AD brought to you by Braun. Who can remember Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and The Sixth Sense? In the music charts at the time was Livin’ La Vida Loca, Baby One More Time and Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit Of…). Prince previously released a song about 1999, this being the year I met a bearded chap at work who five years later became my husband.
At the ripe old age of five POD has adopted a love for all things pretty but she adores the great outdoors just as much. Whether it be climbing trees, rolling down hills or making potions for fairies, being outside is definitely a happy place. POD isn’t put off by the weather either, she said recently she loves the rain as she can jump in muddy puddles – a tell tale sign that she loves to get messy!
If you’re a regular here, you’ll know we love tennis. Both myself and The POD Father played regularly before POD came along in 2010. Last year we got to dust down our rackets after a five year hiatus, largely thanks to Mark Warner Holidays, and POD even had a go herself. On the back of the Aegon GB Davis Cup win, the LTA has recently been giving away free six week tennis courses as part of their #TennisForKids initiative. We’ve loved being part of this campaign with BritMums and we’ll be writing about it very soon. POD’s relished the four lessons she’s had thus far so the first Great British Tennis Weekend couldn’t have come at a better time.
Having recently visited the glorious Hatchlands Park to see the bluebells, we were back to show POD their swanky new treehouse. Managed by the National Trust, Hatchlands Park is a superb place for families especially. As well as the mansion, there’s more green space than you can shake a stick at, lots of trees to climb and an adventure play area. Oh and at this time of year bluebells too.
