When POD was younger she wore wear trousers a fair bit. Don’t get me wrong they were always cute but necessary what with her desire to climb everything in sight! These days she’s very much a girly girl and looking back, probably has been since the age of three. She adores graceful dresses and would wear one every day given half a chance I’m sure. She continues to enjoy climbing, trees especially but equally relishes in all things pretty.
With the summer holidays fast approaching, we’re thrilled to announce we’re giving away £50 to spend on Konfidence swimming essentials. Konfidence are Europe’s leading designers and manufacturers of swimming and learn to swim products. We’re huge fans as their swimming aids and swimwear which has really helped POD build up her water confidence.
As well as The Octonauts and brilliant new series Kazoops, POD also loves the adventures of the Go Jetters! Current airing on the CBeebies channel, it follows Xuli, Kyan, Lars and Foz as they travel the world. Xuli is ‘the pilot with the power and the speed’, Kyan is ‘fantastic when gymnastics is all you need’, Lars ‘makes and fixes things super fast with his hands’ and Foz ‘cracks the answer to Grandmaster Glitch’s plans’. The Go Jetters are led by Ubercorn, a disco grooving unicorn, who presents the four heroes with facts about each of the places they visit.
As big fans of the moving image we were all very excited about the impact Netflix would have on our viewing options.
The CBeebies network has been a firm favourite in the Dove household for some time now and POD has grown up with many of the characters featured in their programmes. Her current favourites include The Octonauts, Andy’s Prehistoric Adventures and the Go Jetters but there’s a superb new series on the way too. The global premiere of #Kazoops took place over the weekend at the Charlotte Street Hotel and we got to have a sneaky peek at the first few episodes.
We’ve been busy creating jungle characters with our Bostik craft box this month. Using toilet paper rolls as a base, we made a zebra, a giraffe, a leopard and a tiger. Plus a little jungle scene to put them in.
The Doves have loved being a part of the #TeamSoft vs #TeamTickly campaign for Braun. As well as shooting a video and appearing in the mash-up, the POD Father has pulled together the ultimate list of Father’s Day gifts he’d love to receive on 19th June.
Our most recent trip to Northern France saw us stop off in Boulogne Sur Mer en route back to Calais. Having visited when we explored the Opal Coast at the end of last year, it was nice to return so soon albeit minus the blue skies we’d relished last time around. The cobbled Rue de Lille was as splendid as we’d remembered it and we even got to grab a coffee the restaurant our Airbnb host had recommended in 2015.
Last month we wrote about the POD Father being an early adopter of the beard. It was a permanent fixture in his travelling days and today it’s regularly trimmed to perfection – often to match a specific occasion. Granted we’ve had a few facial hair disasters along the way but we’re definitely on #TeamTickly – even POD loves her Daddy’s tickly kisses! But what team are you on – #TeamTickly like us or are you a #TeamSoft all about the smooth kind of family?
We’ll be covering our recent trip to Northern France with POD’s grandparents over on POD Travels soon enough. In the meantime, I had to share a few photographs of Berck’s white sandy beaches which were almost reminiscent of the moon. While the weather wasn’t on our side, you cannot deny how stunning this beach must be when accompanied with sunshine and blue skies.
