When POD was younger she wore wear trousers a fair bit. Don’t get me wrong they were always cute but necessary what with her desire to climb everything in sight! These days she’s very much a girly girl and looking back, probably has been since the age of three. She adores graceful dresses and would wear one every day given half a chance I’m sure. She continues to enjoy climbing, trees especially but equally relishes in all things pretty.
This stunning prom dress by English artist Louise Wilkinson is part of a collection at Marks and Spencer, catering for children aged 1-7. The sleeveless A-line style dress with its gorgeous scenery print is just wonderful, there are rolling hills, flowers and much to POD’s delight, a few geese too. You can probably tell by expression what she thinks of it!
With the flared skirt and coming in just above the knee, this dress is a great fit for POD. By that I mean it doesn’t restrict her movement in any way so she’s good to run around, climb and participate in all manner of party games. Just as she would do if she were in a pair of leggings. There’s room for her to grow too although given how much she’s shot up recently, perhaps she could put that on hold for a little while.
This beautifully illustrated dress has a covered zip at the back with a bow and two pearl-like buttons at the neckline. It’s great quality too and 97% cotton which is a winner in our book especially with the lining 100% cotton. Both the lining and the net beneath are very light too. POD can get hot fairly quickly from all her rushing around and suffers from eczema when the temperatures rise so that’s certainly a plus. Oh yes and one more thing, it looks AMAZING!
