The Limited Edition Disney Belle Dress

Six year old POD has been asking to see Disney’s Beauty and the Beast film for a while now. Having loved the original animation, she’s been waiting patiently for it come out on DVD after we missed it at the cinema. The movie was released on DVD today and if that wasn’t exciting enough, POD received a very special dress to coincide with the launch. A Limited Edition Disney Belle dress which is available exclusively at Harrods. Produced by the renowned specialist dress company Rubie’s Masquerade, it’s one of just a thousand handcrafted dresses that have been made across Europe, Australia and Asia.

This Limited Edition Disney Belle Dress for children (RRP £199) comes in S, M and L kids sizes. It’s only available in the UK at Toy Kingdom which is on the 3rd floor of Harrods. With a double hooped petticoat underskirt and tiers of ruffled organza, this wonderful dress is reminiscent of a ball gown fit for a princess. It’s elegantly embroidered and comes with a pair of matching fingerless gloves. These are beautifully packaged and tied to the Disney Limited Edition Belle dress with golden hued ribbon. There’s a removable velvet pocket too which contains a numbered certificate of authenticity – POD’s dress is number 127 out of the thousand made. The finishing touch is a padded satin hanger and an organza and satin cover to ensure the dress stays looking immaculate.

Six year old POD was so excited when she saw this dress for the first time, she actually screamed! Once it was on, she just beamed with delight – it’s quite exceptional. Soft to the touch, this Disney Belle dress is perfect for creating those Belle Ballroom moments – just like Emma Watson in the film. POD is a huge fan of dressing up and while she enjoys the great outdoors and climbing trees, she loves the world of make believe just as much. The dress is a remarkable likeness to the movie and the medium size fitted her perfectly (she’ll be seven on Christmas Day).

We headed to Newlands Corner in the Surrey Hills to take some photographs on the basis it might be quiet after school. In actual fact there were quite a few people enjoying picnics while taking in the views. It’s hardly surprising, it’s a beautiful spot and on a clear day you can see for miles. As you can imagine, POD walking across the hilltop in the most magnificent shimmery dress generated quite a lot of attention. It allowed POD to pretend she was a real princess for a little while too which of course she took full advantage of! This Disney Belle dress is a great length and while POD picked it up a couple of times, she didn’t need to as it’s so easy to walk in. It’s surprisingly light as well.

The attention to detail on the Disney Belle dress really is superb. As well as the embroidery on the front, the soft ruffles, the trim and the pink flowers, the back of the dress is just as stunning. There are little buttons with ribbon in a criss cross shape in-between and there’s a dramatic bow which is removable. Not being a shy type, POD couldn’t resist doing a few twirls in this fabulous dress. Attempting a handstand on the hill was a little less successful as you can imagine! It amused passers by at least anyway.

POD absolutely adores this dress. As I said at the beginning of this post, it’s very special. Obviously she wants to wear it all the time now. I suspect she will want to change the theme of her next birthday party to Beauty and the Beast so she can be the Belle of the ball! It’s not every day you get to wear a dress that literally stops people in their tracks. So if you’re looking for a Disney Belle dress with the wow factor, this is most certainly it.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is out on DVD today. You can watch the official trailer below and if you’ve not seen the film yet, check out the full movie trailer. We caught the film after our hillside shenanigans and absolutely loved it! Here’s to all the Belle’s out there who have the most amazing Disney Belle dress from Harrods and totally feel like Emma Watson on the dance floor.
