When we’re not outside exploring we relish time indoors to recharge the batteries. The Disney+ streaming service is brilliant for this as there are thousands of films, shorts and originals from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic to choose from. Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year (I know, I know!) so as well as all the Pixar movies available on Disney+, they are celebrating all things Pixar.

Pixar Fest
Pixar Fest runs until the 9th September with a brilliant line-up that includes daily celebrations, weekly watch-alongs and animation masterclasses. You can follow the Pixar UK Facebook page for updates but here’s a taste of what’s coming up.
First up are the weekly Pixar watch-alongs on Facebook include the likes of Toy Story, Cars, Inside Out and The Incredibles plus you can watch them back if you miss any. If there’s an artist in the house, grab a notebook and check out the special Pixar animation masterclasses. Already we’ve seen Mark Kermode join Bobby Podesta who was the Pixar animator on Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc and The Incredibles! If the kids want to get some practice in, print off the Pixar colouring sheets and they can bring their favourite characters to life! Do you know all the toys in Andy’s bedroom? Every Thursday at 7pm you can take part in The Happiest Quiz on Earth which is hosted by broadcaster, writer and podcaster Edith Bowman. Head over to the Pixar UK Facebook page for the Live. Disney has supported UK based charity MediCinema for 20 years and during PixarFest, there will be opportunities to win incredible Pixar prizes including an exclusive piece of art drawn by a Pixar illustrator!

The world of Disney+
The best of Pixar can be found on the Disney+ streaming service but that’s not all. Disney+ is also home to movies, shows, Originals, shorts and documentaries from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic. This includes Disney films such as Beauty and the Beast, Frozen II and Zootropolis to action movies like Maleficent, Cinderella and The Lion King along with Disney Channel favourites such as PJ Masks, The Lion Guard and Vampirina. The Marvel Universe brings us X-Men, The Avengers and Ironman to Thor, Captain America and Guardians of the Galaxy. If you’re a Star Wars fan, there are movies, series, shorts and exclusives like the first live-action Star Wars series like The Mandalorian. Of course, National Geographic provides the perfect mix and the very best from our natural world from animals and nature to science, innovation and mysteries plus everything in-between for both kids and adults.
Disney+ has thousands of movies and shows to choose from, with the option to have unlimited downloads on up to ten devices, and it’s ad-free. The best stories in the world all in one place and for just £5.99 a month. The content available is exceptional, we’re truly spoiled for choice whether we’re streaming as a family or taking a little time out on our own.
We’ve also been enjoying the Summer@Home experience, which is a partnership between Disney+ and the Radio Times online, where you’ll find a host of fun activities to the family busy. From quizzes, quotes and facts to drawing Elsa with an animator from Frozen II, mastering Maleficent’s iconic make-up and hairpiece and making your own sock Muppets!
Let’s face it we need as many ideas as possible to keep the kids occupied during the summer holidays after months in lockdown, don’t we? We’ll be sharing more soon but in the meantime, happy streaming everyone!
