The Alphabet Project | M is for miracle

Hello everyone and welcome to letter M of the Alphabet Photography Project. Thank you to those of you that joined in with letter L last week.

This week something amazing happened – POD looked at camera without making a silly face! She never normally looks in my direction and when I do capture her, its because she’s been caught unawares some distance away. It’s for that reason, letter M just had to be for miracle!

The Alphabet Project | L is for London

Hello everyone and welcome to letter L of the Alphabet Photography Project. Thank you to those of you that joined in with letter K last week.

With just over a week left of the daily commute to London, it seemed only right to include a photograph from one of my favourite places – the Southbank. This photograph was taken early one foggy (or froggy as POD calls it!) morning.

The Alphabet Project | K is for knoll

Hello everyone and welcome to letter K of the Alphabet Photography Project. Thank you to those of you that joined in with letter J last week.

On the basis of a knoll being a small hill or a grassy mound, it was hard not to resist Peter Rabbit’s Post Office. It’s one of few wonderful houses that have been created at National Trust owned Limpsfield Common (post to follow).

The Alphabet Project | J is for jetty

Hello everyone and welcome to letter J of the Alphabet Photography Project. Thank you to those of you that joined in with letter I last week.

This photograph was taken near the Southbank in London. If you catch the tide out, beneath this jetty is a little sandy beach. Wandering along it en route to work is a great way to start the day. It’s just a stones throw away from Blackfriars Bridge and St Pauls too.

The Alphabet Project | I is for inspired

Hello everyone and welcome to letter I of the Alphabet Photography Project.

This week was an easy one just because something awesome happened. On Sunday 8th March, I joined a group of ‘honkers’ (the Team Honk posse) and over 2,000 others for a very special Comic Relief Challenge – a six hour danceathon!

The dance style and teacher changed every 30 minutes. They covered 50’s jive, 60’s swing, 70’s disco, 80’s anthems, Street dance, Latin, Hip-hop, Bollywood and West End Musicals to name a few. We also learnt how to do the Thriller dance.

The atmosphere was like nothing else and we kept each other going right to the end. Everyone there was inspired to do good for a great cause by participating in what was really a six hour aerobics class! I’m broken, weirdly emotional and absolutely exhausted but it was incredible.

The Alphabet Project | H is for hat

Hello everyone and welcome to letter H of the Alphabet Photography Project.

We’re popping back to the Summertime this week with a photograph of POD’s infamous hat. Bought at a Mediterranean market, its had a great innings so far. It was lost for a short time not long after this photograph was taken but thankfully found that same day. I have no idea how we’ll replace it when the time comes!

The Alphabet Project | G is for gravity

Hello everyone and welcome to letter G of the Alphabet Photography Project.

This week is all about being airborne! POD was a climber before she could even walk, she still loves to climb, jump and dive. Even at bathtime she likes to fall backwards and let you catch her like she’s crowd surfing!

The Alphabet Project | F is for funny

Hello everyone and welcome to letter F of the Alphabet Photography Project!

I couldn’t resist this photograph, POD’s expression is just priceless. She’s normally such a happy soul but this is what we got when she was told not to play with a cactus! Thankfully it didn’t last.

Thank you so very much for all your lovely comments about her eyelid. The butterfly stitches came off last week and she’s healing remarkably well.

The Alphabet Project | E is for eyelid

Hello everyone and welcome to letter E of the Alphabet Photography Project. I don’t know about you but the weeks seem to be flying past by at the moment!

Every now and again there’s a word you can’t get out of your head. This is one of those weeks – letter E just had to be for eyelid. POD slipped while being chased at pre-school last week and cut her eyelid open on a chair leg as she fell. Gluing wasn’t feasible and stitches would have required a general anesthetic so she’s currently sporting butterfly stitches. Thankfully she’s already re-gained her sense of humour and we’re hoping for a positive assessment this Friday.
