Winkworth in Surrey is a National Trust owned arboretum and a truly wonderful place to visit. Autumn is especially beautiful and usually warrants at least two visits – last year it might have even been three. We still need to catch a falling leaf from a tree but what a great selection littered the ground.
The colour is always quite something – hues of red, yellow and orange on many rare trees. You don’t even have to look very far to see really fabulous colours.
When we were last at Winkworth it was a beautiful Autumnal day and the lake by the boathouse looked especially stunning. Just a few weeks later the change was incredible. What an awesome view this fisherman had.
There were plenty of opportunities for POD to collect different coloured leaves,
hunt for treasure
and make magic! All while wearing her headband round her forehead – exactly where she likes it to be.
There was even time to make bracken umbrellas, play hide and seek
and a catch a lift when POD’s little legs got tired.
Wouldn’t it be great if Autumn could last that little bit longer?

The colours of those leaves are gorgeous. What a beautiful place for a day out and POD looks like she is having a wonderful time 🙂
It would indeed be perfect if Autumn could last just a little bit longer. I think here in the South west we are still clinging on with many trees still yet to fall, one big storm and that will be it though. I love all the colours in your photos and Pod waving the bracken for an umbrella.
Thanks for linking up with Country Kids.
Oh yes, I would love autumn to last a bit longer! We’ve been heading firmly towards winter (although tomorrow is bizarrely supposed to be in the 60’s?!), and I’m really not ready for snow and ice yet! Gorgeous photos of POD as always, and the colours of the leaves are beautiful x
Just popping back from Country Kids, and you know how I said I wasn’t ready for snow…!?!
Wonderful photos, especially the last. It looks like a magical place x
Beautiful photos. I love Autumn and yes, it would be amazing if it could last a little longer!
Superb photography. Looks like a wonderful day out thank you for sharing.
Those photos are just amazing. Do you ever have a post about taking photos tutorial? I would love to know how you take awesome photo as these ones =) #whatsthestory
Pod looks as though she’s thoroughly enjoying herself. Here’s hoping Autumn lasts a little while longer. Thanks for sharing these fabulous photos x
I love the photo of POD and Daddy walking away from the camera. The autumn colours have really been reflected in your photos – fab as always xx #whatsthestory
Arboretums are a lovely place, peaceful and ideal to take pics. Your little one is such a cutie (and my second favorite color is purple:) )
Ah I ruddy love Autumn Charly! I hope that you are all doing well – Victoria and I are heading to Wisley this Sunday if you get a chance to escape! xx
Beautiful photos, the colours are stunning. And I LOVE POD’s hairband around her forehead, bless her! 🙂
Looks so lovely there and that POD had a great time #CountryKids
