Thank you so much for joining in with the Black and White Photography Project and sharing the monochrome love.
Having attended a macro photography course yesterday, I thought I’d share a few of the photos. It seems quite alien converting floral loveliness to black and white but I like the emphasis on shape. It was raining when the above photograph was taken so it was a case of balance the brolly on the shoulder and using the thigh tripod. I’m sure I’m not alone in doing that?!
I couldn’t tell you what this is but the texture caught my eye. It looks quite intriguing in monochrome.
How to join in
To join in with the Black & White Photography Project, just link up a short post, with or without words, featuring a black and white photograph. You can link up a collection of black and white photographs too if you prefer. The photograph/s can be from any time – old and new are welcome. You’ll find a post on how to create better black and white photographs here.
Share your photo on Instagram using #bwphotoproject (PODcast is here). You can also share your posts and photos in the B&W Photography Project Facebook Group.
The Black and White Photography Project runs every Sunday. The Linky is live from that day through to Saturday. If you include a link back to PODcast or the blog badge I’ll happily share your post for you.

Fabulous images Charly, you’re right that the black and white focuses you in on shape and texture. Stunning macro shots x
I think you always manage to give justice to every lovely flowers when you turn them into black and white.. I mean, they still look so damn pretty. :>
Stunning photos – the textures and shapes stand out so well in black and white. Think the middle photo is my favourite – love the detail 🙂
Beautiful pictures, somehow flowers look just as stunning in black and white.
Gorgeous in black and white. Always more attention to detail in black and white!
Absolutely stunning photographs. I love the raindrops on the first image, and the detail in the second picture is incredible. Jess
Very cool. Black and and white makes flowers look both eerie and intriguing! X
I really do think flowers work well in black and white. I especially like the droplets on the first one 🙂
I normally don’t like flowers in B&W, but these are all lovely shots. You’re right about the monochrome bringing out the texture and shape. The third one is my favourite – I love how vivid the little strands of white fluff are against the grey background.
These are fantastic! I love the strange one at the bottom. 🙂 My post will be up tomorrow! x
Yes I agree, in black and white you really do focus more on the shapes and texture. Amazing.
These details! Amazing & stunning =)
Such brilliant pictures, you are very talented x #BWPhotoproject
Just discovered this meme—and I love your b/w macros!
Wow I love that pic, so much detail and depth to it. You are tempting me to buy a macro lens so much!! 🙂
