An open garden

We spent a couple of days with my Dad over the Bank Holiday weekend. He lives in a town called Budleigh Salterton located on the South coast of Devon.

Dad took us round the garden when we first arrived much to POD’s delight. It really is looking immaculate at the moment and with good reason too. Along with others in his community, Dad is opening his garden to the public for two days in June. It’s part of a garden scheme to raise money for a local charity called Hospiscare.

The garden is bursting with colour.

and signs of Spring bursting from every crevice. It will no doubt make for a wonderful open garden.

A beautiful garden, I’m sure people will love it! Looks like he’s done a great job. I have that purple flower in my garden, although I can’t remember the name of it now I’ve seen it! 🙂

Awesome garden Grandad POD ! I keep seeing Open Garden signs about locally but have never ventured to one, seeing these photos might be the push I need to go to one. I love how it looks like there’s lots of exploring to do there too, I bet POD loves it! Love the springs on the steps.

Thanks you so much for sharing – and hats off to your dad, that’s a splendid garden 🙂

Congrats in the BiBs too xxx

    What a stunning garden –
I absolutely LOVE the metal dragonfly too, and the way it catches the light.
    Beautiful.
Must have been such an exciting garden for Pod to spend time in, and discover all of the treasures…

Now that’s a garden worth a visit! Just love the birdboxes and the hidden path. I think I would be a visitor that would need to be kicked out as the sun sets.

What a brilliant project it looks like a very rewarding project for some very hardworking gardeners! Lots of food for thought here, I like the suncatchers and Joss would love them too, the peeping hedgehog is a beaut! Well done on your BiBs nomination, hugely well deserved 😉 x

Your dad’s garden is really pretty. My neighbours garden looks like this! They have a whole collection of really different wind chimes that it like to admire.
