Thank you to everyone that joined the Alphabet Photography Project over the past week with their letter I.
This week my letter J is for Jellyfish. Although the fresh water variety terrify me, behind glass they’re absolutely fascinating. We saw these Compass Jellyfish at SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth recently. We stood for ages watching them.
How to join in
The Alphabet Photography Project runs every Wednesday. If you’d like to share a post or link up an image, a Linky is live from that day until the following Tuesday. If you include a link back to PODcast I’ll share your post for you. You can post a photo on Instagram (PODcast is here) if you’d prefer using the hashtag #alphabetphoto.
There are also Pinterest, Facebook and Google+ groups for the Alphabet Photography Project.
Ideas for letter J
The #alphabetphoto theme can be interpreted in any way you choose. The letter J might be a photograph of jam for example, an object that resembles the letter J or a photograph of the letter J using props. It could also be an adjective. Have a look at the letter hints in last week’s post. If you get really stuck, an online dictionary is a good point of reference!

Like you I love jellyfish .. behind glass! They are fascinating to watch aren’t they; I could stand watching them for ages. Great photo too.. I have tried several times and got the odd good one, but not as wonderful as yours 🙂
I just find them so captivating. Amazing creatures!
I’m the same, behind glass they are quite beautiful 🙂 My husband bought me a lovely photo print of a jellyfish, it’s in the container… 🙂 Wonderful photo Charly, the colour is fabulous xx
Just beautiful. Amazing colour and movement. I can imagine being content to watch it for some time. And not a reflection in sight.
Beautiful photo, and I almost did the same topic, except I couldn’t find a good shot. This letter was a big challenge for me, and I had to refer to your ideas from last week! Thanks for that 🙂
What am amazing photo. I remember watching them a few years ago when my eldest was little, at the Horniman Museum. You are right they are captivating but perhaps better to watch behind glass! I don’t think they all sting……
Wow, that’s amazing photo but I have to say Jellyfish really make my skin crawl, even behind glass! I’m a bit scared about all the jellyfish that are apparently being washed up on our local beaches!! Yikes! I love the blue colour that is captured in your photo. x
Really gorgeous photo, they are so fascinating to watch. That one is a lovely colour
Love your jelly fish. It looks so delicate and graceful. Thanks for hosting, Charly. All the best, Bonny
Wow Charly Dove – LOVE this photo! We visited Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto recently and saw some beautiful jellyfish, but none of my photos turned out like THAT! Beautiful!

I admired this photograph when you first posted it – just stunning.
Jellyfish make such an amazing subject for a photo – a bit like a beautiful alien. Great shot.
Such a brilliant photo! I can never take any decent ones of the jellyfish!
What an incredible creature! Jellyfish are always so beautiful to look at in the water. I’m really enjoying following this series – a fantastic idea.

What a beautiful jelly fish! We used to see a lot of jellyfish where I grew up in Canada. When the white ones appeared in the spring the water was getting warmer and when the red ones appeared the water was warm enough to go swimming in. We got stung by those red guys, a lot, as children! 🙂
Brilliant photograph. Jellyfish scare me a little, they’re so delicate but some of them are so dangerous! Interesting to look at though x
Just posted my “J” hope it isn’t too late!
I’m getting in at the last minute as I really didn’t want to miss a week and we were camping in the middle of nowhere last week and I couldn’t get online! Back in civilisation now though 🙂
Wow what an incredible photograph. I love the deep blue colours. Jelly fish always look so elegant. All linked up x
Stunning photo. x

Unless you’re like myself and packing well up top, then the likelihood of a black eye is high! But jumping is fun nevertheless. Ellie came up with the idea for this weeks Alphabet photo project, so we got to work. She tried lots of funny jumps, off walls, recycle boxes & bins but this one….this one was my favorite because look at her super happy face! Linking up with Podcasts Alphabet Photo Project […]
