Thank you to everyone that joined the Alphabet Photography Project over the past week with letter U. It’s hard to believe we’ve almost reached the end of the alphabet!
So what do we think, shall we do it all again? Let me know in the comments if you’re keen.
These photographs were taken in New Zealand six years ago. Some say the volcanic peaks of Ngauruhoe, Tongariro and Ruapehu are among the top ten single-day treks in the World. All are highly active and the terrain reflects this.
It took 6 hours to complete the 20km hike across the Tongariro Crossing which at times saw us reach an altitude of 1,800 metres. It’s not really something you should be doing after a friend’s wedding – least of all on the spur of the moment. There were broken toes, sweat and tears but we rewarded ourselves with what was probably the best lager ever!
How to join in
The Alphabet Photography Project runs every Wednesday. A Linky is live from that day until the following Tuesday so you can upload a short post or an Instagram photo. If you include a link back to PODcast I’m happy to share it for you.
You can post a photo on Instagram (PODcast is here) using the hashtag #alphabetphoto. There are Pinterest, Facebook and Google+ groups too.
Ideas for letter V
The #alphabetphoto theme can be interpreted in any way you choose. Your letter might be a photograph for example, an object that resembles a letter or an adjective. Have a look at the letter V hints in last week’s post. If you get really stuck, an online Scrabble dictionary is a good point of reference!
Inspiration for letter W
Here are a few ideas to get us thinking about letter W:
Wet, wig, wow, war, wax, who, way, wool, woes, wire, World, wilt, wine, wool, whizz, wok, white, wary, wrap, wood, wife, wire, wham, wing, whim, wolf, wool, whiz, wipe. wink, whey, waistcoat, walk, wannabes, weakness, weary, weird, whiskers, whistles, wildlife, windows, wintery, wisteria, wipeout.

They really must have been so amazing to see, what an experience. I’d love to do the project again, but I think I’d need a break first 🙂
Snap! I did Volcano too.. although mine was from Hawai’i! Volcanoes are awesome aren’t they 🙂
And yes, I’d be keen to do the project again.. have really enjoyed joining in 🙂
Gorgeos photos!
Yeah, I will do it again and do it complete (I’ve only joined after the first half)
Thanks for hosting
Have really enjoyed this alphabet challenge but I’d probably sit the next round out, but watch with interest!
Wow. That looks amazing! I could well believe its one of the top 10 single day treks in world. I’d love to do Alphabet Photo again. Or maybe numbers?
Wow what an amazing place to visit! Beautiful pictures x

Wow, that must have been an unforgettable trip! I’d love to join Alphabet Photo again, maybe we could do it with a twist this time.
Definitely worth the effort. Although the last time I climbed up a volcano, I was a teenager and full of energy. I’m up for another round of AlphabetPhoto. It’s been fun.
Would love to join in again with a little twist on it somehow?! x
That’s quite a hike! Volcanoes are so exhilarating. I’d be up for joining in again I think – maybe with a different twist on it… X
Wow I bet that was amazing
Wow what an experience. Fabulous photos x
Would love to see a volcano, must have been quite an experience. I won’t be doing another alphabet photo project, I have enjoyed some weeks and struggled on others to find time or indeed a subject! But it has been fun on the whole, if it was a shorter photo project that would be perfect!
Wowee, what a fantastic thing to do! Have to confess I’d probably be terrified the entire time that the volcano was about to erupt! 🙂
Beautiful photos – what an experience to visit them
