Isn’t this time of year gorgeous? The autumnal hues we’re currently surrounded by are just beautiful – a great reminder to get outdoors, not that we need one! One of my favourite places to visit in Surrey at this time of year is the National Trust managed Winkworth Arboretum – the array of colours never disappoints.
RHS Wisley is somewhere that’s always awash with colour but its wonderful displays are even more impressive in autumn. Added to which there’s a new play area and there have been heaps of activities on for kids over half term which is a win-win situation for us. Halloween seemed to arrive from nowhere (perhaps it was just October disappearing before our eyes!) but we made it to Secretts in Milford for pumpkin picking – finding two small pumpkins which were transformed into a cat and a monster!

The #UKExplore community is focused on outdoor adventures and special places – every month we give away a National Trust day pass. Your photograph doesn’t have to be an image from one of the 534 National Trust properties (although you already know we adore them!), we want to see your ‘off the beaten track’ spots, too.
Your photograph could be the most marvellous of meadows, the perfect place for a picnic, the loveliest lake for skimming stones, or rambling routes for running along. Wherever and whenever you’re out exploring, simply take a photo and upload it to Instagram using the #UKexplore hashtag so we can find you. You don’t have to be a blogger either, anyone can join in and be in with a chance to win a prize.
