We all know The Tale of Peter Rabbit, the adventurous but somewhat mischievous hero created by Beatrix Potter. The book was an instant bestseller when it was originally published in 1901 and it continues to delight generations of readers.
The long-awaited movie sees Domhall Gleeson play Mr McGregor with Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki, and Daisy Ridley take on the roles of Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail. With Peter Rabbit voiced by James Corden, the film sees Peter Rabbit’s feud with Mr McGregor reach new heights as they rival for the affections of the animal lover next door, played by Rose Byrne.
To tie in with this month’s film release, we’ve received one of the Talking Peter Rabbit plush toys from the Official Movie Collection. Created by Rainbow Designs and styled like the character in the film, this cuddly Peter Rabbit with its classic blue jacket is £19.99. As well as being super soft, when you squeeze Peter Rabbit’s tummy he speaks. There are 5 phrases in total (all voiced by James Corden) “Hello, my name is Peter Rabbit”, “Has anyone seen Mr McGregor”, “Hey, you got this”, “more radishes and carrots please” and “we will feast tonight”.
The Talking Peter Rabbit is suitable for all ages and it’s a lot of fun. There’s been a lot of tummy squeezing going on in the Dove household that’s for sure. POD and I even played a variation of catch which involved squeezing Peter Rabbit’s tummy just before we threw him. So simple but such a lot of fun. She’s just lost one of her bottom teeth and the top two are super wobbly but we managed to avoid losing any despite some questionable throwing!
