POD always loves activities that allow her to explore her creativity. She’s continually colouring, drawing and sticking with clay creations up there too. The Poppit Shopkins Ballet Activity Pack enables her to make mini clay versions of Shopville characters.
The Poppit Shopkins Activity Set (RRP £14.99) from Character comes with a selection of ballet-themed moulds including standard, 3D and detailed, 4 packets of coloured clay and sealed clay pots so it doesn’t dry out, a Popper and cover, a water dropper, a Smooth Tool plus a selection of embellishments.
There’s no preparation required with this activity set. You just select a mould and push in enough clay to fill both sides of it. Any excess clay can be removed with little fingers or with the Smooth Tool that’s provided to ensure the clay is flat in the mould. Left over clay can be put in one of the clay pots so it doesn’t dry out.
You then close your mould, for a few minutes if the clay needs to dry a little, before pulling out your ballet creations! They should be slightly rubbery in texture but soft so you can decorate them. If they’re too hard, you just add a little water using the dropper. POD didn’t have much luck with the Popper itself but there was more than enough to keep her occupied with the 8 moulds! They’re super easy to use too so suitable for children aged 4+.
The gems can be attached with your fingers and you can use the dropper too. There are lots of embellishments to choose from so there are a whole host of characters you can make and in 4 different colours too. What’s great about this activity set is that you can be as creative as you like with your miniature friends! Once you’ve finished decorating each of them, you just leave your creations to dry overnight.
