The B&W Photography Project | Week #9

Thank you to everyone that joined in with the Black and White Photography Project over these past days.

This week has a bit of a fishing theme – not something I thought I’d ever hear myself say! These photographs were taken around the Southbank in London. I’ve never noticed before but if you stop and look, you realise the smell of the sea is really strong.

Great photos – have never noticed the smell of the sea around Southbank or the fishing boats so will have to be more observant next time I am there. Love the texture on the photo with the net and seaweed

You’re quite accurate with your words there. When I look at these photos, I can smell that distinct ocean smell. A great representation, not only of sight, but smell as well. Thank you for hosting another lovely week of photos.

I know what you mean, especially at low tide the smell of ozone is really strong. lovely photos as always, I especially love the top one 🙂

The texture in those photographs is wonderful, love the cobbed pathway. Is this by the ‘beach’? I wandered along the South Bank a few years ago after Britmums and was amazed to find a sandy beach there.

    Thanks for hosting the linky.

Lovely pictures, I love that it’s like a beach there and the pictures are stunning in black and white especially that last one with the metal grate! Love the contrasts of black and white #bwphototproject

Oh I love the bricks, and the detail on the boats, which you seem to notice more in black and white!

I don’t think I’ve ever noticed the smell or even the fishing boats!! Brilliant photo of what is probably such a busy little hub.

That brings back memories. As students we used to head down to the thames shoreline on the Southbank to look for interesting flotsam to turn into sculptures. Its amazing down there – like you can see the city’s roots just poking through.

My favourite is the second one. There is something poignant about it. xx

Lovely seaside shots – I think Black and White works great for this subject as it gives it a really different mood to the bright colours normally associated. Great finds and details 🙂
