POD has long been a fan of Peppa Pig. If memory serves me right it was the first animated TV show she ever saw and she’s continued to watch ever since. Accompanying toys are always a sure fire hit and the new Peppa Pig Classic Toys range from Character Options certainly tops the lot. Inspiring fans both old and new, it brings together everything POD loves about the much-loved TV series.
The range includes a Home and Garden Playset (RRP £19.99) which is Peppa’s home from the iconic show. The house opens up to reveal four rooms and an attic plus there are lots of accessories included too. Everything folds away for easy storage and there’s a carry handle so it’s easy to take on your travels too. We’re reviewing the Air Peppa Jet (RRP £19.99) and the Laugh with Peppa plush toy (RRP £19.99).
The Air Peppa Jet is perfect for imaginative play which is great as POD always enjoys taking characters on pretend adventures. Included in this set is Miss Rabbit who is in the cockpit, a Peppa Pig figurine with movable arms and legs plus there’s Peppa’s luggage as well. Made from sturdy plastic and with working wheels, the jet is full of surprises – all of which are suitable for little hands. For starters the top opens up to reveal three seats and there are pull-down steps too. There’s even a hold at the rear for Peppa’s luggage!
POD was very excited to discover the cockpit actually opens. Even better than that however was being able to flip down pilot Miss Rabbit – revealing an empty seat for Peppa to take her place! This revelation brought with it raucous laughter and a whole new level of exploring – of course with Peppa at the helm! The Air Peppa Jet is a great way to fuel pretend play and while POD doesn’t tend to need much help in that area, it was great to see how she adapted her story. She does a mean jet noise too, taking raspberry blowing to a whole new level!
POD has a few Peppa Pig themed plush toys of varying sizes but Laugh with Peppa is not like anything you’ve come across before. She was keeping us entertained (me in particular) before being taken out of the box! We all know Peppa lies on the ground and giggles when she’s tickled. This toy works in a similar way in that if you press her tummy, she falls backwards and giggles while wiggling her arms and legs.
The likeness is quite uncanny and you absolutely cannot help but laugh when you hear it. As well as keeping POD amused, Laugh with Peppa has kept us entertained too! I guess that’s the sign of a good toy though isn’t it. Both the Air Peppa Jet and the Laugh with Peppa toys are excellent, POD’s definitely a fan of both already!
