It’s a crystal grotto at Painshill Park in Surrey. Hundreds of thousands of crystals including calcite, gypsum, quartz and fluorite were used to re-create this folly. It’s full of stalactites 🙂
Absolutely and utterly gorgeous – I would really like to get there one day. We are seeing Father Christmas at London Zoo, and get to feed his reindeer!
You definitely should Jo it’s fabulous. Do check the opening times of the crystal grotto before you go though. We went back yesterday to show Daddy and it was only open a couple of hours 🙂

Oh beautiful stalactites, didn’t know you can find things like this in Surrey.
They’re wonderful aren’t they. It’s taken a while to restore the crystal grotto by the sounds of things – all crystals put in by hand 🙂
