      They’re stalactites in a crystal grotto, it was incredible! There’s a post on the follies of Painshill Park on the blog with some more photos. Wonderful place 🙂

      It’s a crystal grotto at Painshill Park in Surrey. Hundreds of thousands of crystals including calcite, gypsum, quartz and fluorite were used to re-create this folly. It’s full of stalactites 🙂

      They’re wonderful aren’t they. It’s taken a while to restore the crystal grotto by the sounds of things – all crystals put in by hand 🙂

      You definitely should Jo it’s fabulous. Do check the opening times of the crystal grotto before you go though. We went back yesterday to show Daddy and it was only open a couple of hours 🙂

      It’s amazing Rach. Has recently been restored though so perhaps that’s why you don’t know of it. Re-opened in the Summer 🙂
