Last summer we reviewed the brilliant Horse Club Riding Stable from Schleich. It came with two horses, a jockey, window boxes and a whole host of extras. POD has only ridden herself a handful of times but she loves this set and the attention to detail is spot on. The Schleich Showjumper with Horse is from the same range so it can integrate with the Horse Club Riding Stable set or be played with on its own. We’ve come to expect great quality products from Schleich and this showjumper with horse certainly met those expectations.
Designed with children (aged 3+) in mind, the showjumper with horse is sturdy and easy to relate to the real thing. Even the mane is braided in the same way. The attention to detail really is wonderful and the rider fits on the horse perfectly. Not only that the rider’s boots slip into the stirrups with ease and the reigns can be held too. That’s just what you need when you’re on Hanoverian horse set for winning a major horse show! The saddle is longer and wider than the horse and rider POD already has. It’s thickly padded too so the rider stays in place while practicing those all important jumps. Hanoverian horses are known to be especially gifted jumpers. Originating from Germany, it’s the breed often seen at the Olympic Games and in other competitions.
POD has had so much fun with this showjumper and horse set already, practising jumps in both the garden and inside using her hand as a fence. It’s perfect for pretend play especially with it being so realistic. Priced at £13.99, the set comes with the mare and rider along with the saddle, reigns and bridle. POD is going to get hours of fun out if it that’s for sure.
