An unplanned three-hour walk, decorating and falling over hasn’t helped the poorly back this week! Blogging has taken a back seat over evenings spent horizontal. Most of these photographs have been taken whilst standing, aside from the crocuses which were in such an awkward position, I almost got my head stuck in-between the steps of POD’s playhouse!
Welcome to Project 365: Week #9.
Day 54
Having recently discovered the Devil’s Punch Bowl, we were back on Sunday to show Daddy. The plan was a good walk followed by lunch and decorating POD’s room. We went for the shortest route so we could take in the Devil’s Punch Bowl but leave enough time to get everything done.
But Daddy didn’t want to walk back on himself and he was convinced if we carried on walking we’d end up back where we started. We got so lost we ended up off the National Trust map, at one point having to carry the buggy and POD! Although it took us three hours to get back (we rewarded ourselves with cake), we saw some amazing sights including this beautiful wild pony.
Day 55
There was a lot to do today before POD’s new carpet was fitted. This photograph was taken just before heading to Wickes and Homebase for more supplies! It’s the door to a brick shed which houses our washing machine and tumble dryer. The house is over 100 years old and although I’m sure this door is too, it is rather lovely in black and white.
Day 56
Back woes meant the balance was off but I wore heels as I had a meeting. Very silly, I went down like a sack of spuds en route! The walk back to Waterloo was a slow affair especially across the Covent Garden cobbles. There were some amazing street artists in the Piazza though and the Apple Market looked wonderful with the sunlight seeping through. I took this on my now chipped iPhone!
Day 57
Our first daffodil has appeared!
Day 58
I nearly got my head stuck in-between the steps of POD’s playhouse taking this photograph. They’re in this strange place as its where our beautiful willow tree once stood.
Day 59
I’ve no idea what this is nor what happens to it (if anything!) but it’s interesting all the same. It belongs to a plant with huge veiny leaves.
Day 60
Today saw POD have a quick run around the garden – she looks so tall and grown-up in this photograph! Where’s my toddler gone?!

Beautiful photo’s. I love that the snowdrops and daffodil’s are starting to come out. Winter feels like it has lasted ages!
Thank you Amy. So lovely to see the signs of Spring isn’t it. Come on!
Great finally seeing signs of spring. a worthy shot for all the effort you went through to get it!
That’s very true and the crocuses have gone already! Come on Spring!
Love the firework looking plant – have no idea on its name either! Our house is a similar age to yours and the brick outbuilding went when the previous owners put a cheap and small conservatory on the back. I get so sad when so many original features go – we have cheap doors and far too much PVC for my liking! Lovely pics again 🙂
Thank you very much. It’s very true about the cheap doors. We had original windows in our place in London, looked great restored – not great for double glazing I’d imagine though!
What awesome photos, love the pony x
Thank you Cathy – that pony was wonderful 🙂
Beautiful flower shots. Hope your back is better soon
Thank you, it’s been slow but hopefully we’ll get there!
Beautiful photos hunnie… and how cute is that Pony!? #PoCoLo
Thank you Leanne 🙂
Absolutely stunning photo’s Charly! OMG so stunning! Wow! x
You’re too kind Jo, thank you so much 🙂
your photos are all so bright and cheery! I still love the name Devils Punch Bowl too 🙂
sorry to read that your back has been out of sorts, i hope you will soon be back to normal.
i am enjoying seeing all the colourful signs of spring too x x
Thank you Jenny – the Devil’s Punch Bowl is brilliant, finally got the post up today. The back has been a real pain but I’m nearly caught up now I think 🙂
OMG ! I am loving the flowers, the daffodil is so prefect
Oh thank you so much Angela 🙂
Gorgeous photos as always. I love the crocuses and the door. The mystery plant looks a bit like an allium or maybe an agapanthus but would be too early for these I would think so not sure? We love seeing the ponies at the Devil’s Punch Bowl – must go back up there soon. Hope your back is feeling better.
Thank you very much. The crocuses were wonderful, sad that they’ve gone already. Thank you for the mystery plant tip, I shall have a look! The Devil’s Punch Bowl is so lovely, finally got the post up today!
Pod looks like she’s completely shot up!! Love your daffodil. Spring is coming. Hooray!
She really has – so fast it seems! Come on Spring!!!
Sorry to hear about the back! Can totally relate to the trips to Wickes and Homebase. Lovely photos as ever – POD does look very tall all of a sudden!
Thank you Sarah. They are the tedious trips aren’t they! POD has shot up definitely, looks even taller in that boots/leggings combo!
Love the pony and the door to the brick shed. POD is looking so tall, gosh! I love Covent Garden and I love the composition of that shot x
Thank you very much. The pony was lovely, such a great sight seeing them roam freely like that. Covent Garden is just fabulous isn’t it 🙂
awww honey i am sending massive hugs, you didnt say you had fallen the other day! gutted on your behalf for the chipped iphone but rather that then a broken bone! x
Thanks lovely. I fell on the broken bone but that seems to be doing alright. Hopefully the rest will follow!
Gorgeous shots of the flowers. And love the last one of Pod in her pink outfit.
Thank you Kriss – POD looks so tall in that outfit though doesn’t she!
Last week I was moaning that I hadn’t seen any flowers but now they have come from nowhere and everywhere is covered with daffodils, snowdrops and crocus. Lovely photos. I hope your back is feeling better soon x
It’s mad isn’t it they’ve just popped up everywhere! Thanks lovely 🙂
Lovely photographs as always. Sounds like you’ve been in the wars though. Hope you are ok.
Thanks Erica – doing alright cheers 🙂

Thank you so much Kirsty 🙂
So sorry to hear you’ve done your back in again 🙁 How do you manage to get such gorgeous photos even with a bad back?! I love the one of Covent Garden, such a magical place. Hope you get a chance to rest your back this week. x
Thanks lovely. I’ve not been bending for photos – except the crocus one when I nearly didn’t make it back up again! Covent Garden is great isn’t it, need a night out there. Long overdue 🙂
great photos as always! I especially love the black and white door one and that daffodil x
Thank you so much. So nice to see Spring on its way!
Adore your photos and your blog. Hope you are feeling better xx (Better Photos Project)
Thank you so much – and yours too 🙂
Oh dear – sounds like a very eventful week! I would not have been happy with a 3 hour detour though glad you managed to find some sliver linings!
It really was! Was a great walk albeit somewhat longer than we anticipated 🙂
Yet again you blow me away with your photography. Love the pony, and the bright colours in the one of POD 🙂 Hope the back is feeling better soon.
That is such a lovely thing to say Ruth, thank you 🙂
Beautiful as ever…. I have this image of you with your DSLR hung around your neck 24/7. X
Erm I do that probably a little too often – usually only on walks though! Thanks lovely x
great pictures, look at the colours in the crocus. The apple market roof looks amazing, love the lighting and the shadows in it.
Thank you Elaine – so nice to see some colour isn’t it! Covent Garden looked lovely, wish I could have stayed longer but had to get back 🙂
I love that photo of the horse, such curiosity on his face!
