Lalaloopsy Glitter Hair Dough Doll

The Lalaloopsy Glitter Hair Dough Doll is a great way to encourage creativity as it enables children to grow a doll’s hair, style it and cut it. POD was thrilled at the prospect so you can just imagine how excited she was.

Forming part of the new Autumn/Winter range, the Lalaloopsy Twist, Tress ‘N’ Braid set (RRP £29.99) comes with a doll, her own seat (so she stays upright), scissors, two hair clips and three styling caps. Also included were three tubs of glitter dough so POD had the freedom to create her own designs. Each of the styling caps provides a different look so she opted to try them all, starting with the one Lalaloopsy came with.

All you need to do to get started is to unscrew the cap on Lalaloopsy’s head. The pink dough she opted for first came out of the tub with ease and it was soft enough to mould onto Lalaloopsy’s head. Once she’d filled the hole, POD twisted the styling cap back into position – really it only needs one turn. To make Lalaloopsy’s hair grow, you just rotate one of her ponytails and watch the ‘hair’ appear. It’s such a simple concept but it made someone very happy. You might be able to tell from her expression.

It wasn’t long before POD took to the scissors giving Lalaloopsy a whole new style. There are all kinds of things you can do like twist the hair, braid or curl it – as well as making up your own creations. POD opted for the latter, cutting the hair before it was fully grown before re-styling it again. There was a lot of laughing along the way as you can imagine.

Having removed a little leftover pink dough from Lalaloopsy, POD moved onto the yellow dough. She selected a different styling cap although the process was the same. While we played with the Lalaloopsy Glitter Hair Dough Doll together, it’s suitable for children aged four and above. POD took her role as hairdresser very seriously, cutting the hair when she needed to and adding clips to create the look she wanted. Little did we know we’d have quite so much fun with it.

As well as the different coloured dough, what really makes the Lalaloopsy Glitter Hair Dough Doll so much fun are the styling caps. Each of them has two different styles so it makes it very easy to create something very different every time. POD also loved the fact she had a free reign with the scissors which is not always possible. Once she’d finished her creations, Lalaloopsy was surprisingly easy to clean – both the head area and the styling caps. Certainly a win win from us. We just need to get Daddy making some hairstyles now too.
