We’d normally drive to pre-school but there’s a fault on the car so we’re currently on foot. Although the walk is uphill and mostly alongside a busy road, it does have its perks!
It’s provided the perfect opportunity to capture frosty succulents,
twisted leaves
and moss on the top of a letterbox.
When the frost melts, water droplets sparkle on flowers by the roadside
these berries even have their own umbrella!
There are signs of Spring
and Sunday roast (POD thought this was a sprout!) everywhere.
If you look closely you’ll find some absolute gems
like upside down daffodils
and an unknown flower peeping over a garden wall.

Stunning photos, I want to be on your walk to school, it looks so pretty!!
Thank you Jess. It’s not an especially nice walk to pre-school but we do get to see all these pretty things we’d otherwise miss π
It must be the week for car problems – mine is at the garage too! Lovely photos and it is always nice to find a silver lining in things π
Oh no! Our car has been at the garage since Sunday and they’ve not looked at it yet, hopefully today *crosses fingers* lovely to see so many gems though π
I know I’m boring and I say it every week, but I never tire of looking at your photos. They’re so beautiful!
Thank you so much Sarah, your lovely comments are always greatly appreciated π
ooh i do like your twisty leaves!!
Thank you Becky π
Wonderful!!!! I just love your attention to the detail – love the curled leaf. :o). X
Thank you so much Sarah π
Love these shots. The last flower reminds me of the flowers in Alice in Wonderland.
That’s a lovely comparison Laura, thank you π
Beautiful shots! I always think about taking my camera out on the walk to school, but we’re always rushing to get there on time so that wouldn’t work… I’m really not a morning person. >_<
Take it!! You’d be amazed what you can find π
Wow Charly they are stunning photo’s, our plants are still under a foot or so of snow so I’m very jealous of your beautiful spring-like pics
Thanks lovely, I do love your snowy gems though π
Just stunning. Love how you’ve made the walk so filled with beauty.
Thank you Jocelyn. It’s so nice to find some gems on a walk up a busy road π
oh my word that moss shot what lens do you have i must know as that was just amazing #HDYGG
Thank you so much Helen. That moss one was taken on a 60mm π
Very pretty phptos. You really have an eye for beauty. We don’t get to see such kind of flowers inDubai because of the climate. And photos like these are always a welcoming change.
Thank you very much. The weather has been so changeable here – I’ve taken photos of frost and ladybirds this week. Quite odd!
I want to walk to school with you too………Great photos hun, makes me feel there is light at the end of a very rainy tunnel xxx
We’ve been so lucky with the weather! The walk to pre-school would be something else if it was pouring with rain! You’re welcome anytime π
beautiful pictures. There’s a tree near school I always walk past and when it’s been raining, I always think, Oh I wish I had my camera, as it would make a great shot
You must take your camera! The one time I didn’t take it this week I missed the most incredible sky π
lovely photos! I do love a frost morning, always so pretty! hope the car gets fixed soon though x
Thank you Charmaine. We’ve been really lucky so far with the weather, has been frosty and Spring-like too, such a contrast π
What gorgeous photos – they’ve made me smile this morning x x
Good to hear it Cass, thank you π
I love the frosty succulents and the moss on top of the letterbox! x #HDYGG
Thank you honey. I had an awesome photo of the frosty succulent but one petal was out of focus. It’s tried to break me this week LOL!
Beautiful images Charlie. We have not really had many frosts this winter. I miss them
That’s very true, we’ve had very few too Jen. Quite nice to capture a few frosty snaps before Spring comes our way π
Gorgeous photos! What camera do you use? x
Thank you very much Lucie, I’ve got a Canon 550D π
Wow these photos are beautiful. Although I am longing for warmth and Spring at the moment I love the frosty crispness of these…just lovely!
Thank you very much. I too am longing for those heady Spring days π
ohhhhhh… what a beautiful walk to school! i would walk there more often. beautiful pictures. always
Thank you lovely. We don’t normally walk to pre-school but with the car off the road it’s been forced upon us! Thankfully it’s been rather lovely π
I adore the umbrella over the berries, just delightful. A gorgeous set of photographs, Charly, I am as ever in awe of your ability xx
You’re so kind, thank you very much. It’s a nice umbrella isn’t it – realised when I saw it I’d not brought my own with me!
Stunning images, everything looks so pretty edged in ice.
Thank you Kizzy, that’s very true π
We need to make the most of these frosty mornings it seems to be warming up so much over the last week.
Thank you very much Emma π
I love the water droplets that you have captured.(Fran is looking over my shoulder and demanding to know why you’ve not taken any pictures of strawberries).
Thank you very much Louisa. Love that Fran is asking where the strawberries are :))
These pictures are beautiful, I love how the colours stand out!
Thank you very much Kirsty π
So beautiful! What a gorgeous walk to school!

Beautiful photos and isn’t nature just gorgeous? This has made me feel like spring is finally on its way π
Thank you Steph. I do hope Spring is on its way, wouldn’t that be lovely π
A lovely collection of Spring pushing its way through. I love succulents and will be buying more at the weekend for my home. x
Thank you Lori. I think we need some succulents in our garden too π
Your school run looks loads more interesting than ours!
Thank you Jenny although it really isn’t – a walk next to a busy road. Some pretty gardens along the way though π
Stunning photos! And it DOES look like a sprout… π
Yes she’s right isn’t she, it’s a sprout! Thank you π
And if anyone is going to spot beauty in an unusual environment, it’s you. That’s what walks to school should be about. Gorgeous π
Hehe very good, thank you Suzanne. Nice to get some pleasure out of it along the way π
Fantastic photos. Don’t you just love how pretty frost makes everything look!
I love frost, hardly seen any of it this year either so this was a great surprise! Thank you π
Swoon at these pictures. I love macro photography and the one of the moss is magical, like a tiny fairies comfy chair. The unknown flower looks a bit like a type of camellia maybe?
I love that description Sam, just brilliant! Never was moss so exciting! Will have a look at the unknown flower, thank you for the tip π
Beautiful macro pictures. Frosty mornings are such a gift and thank you for the reminder that frosty mornings are to be appreciated for their aesthetics. I will remember this in the coming week when I am freezing on the nursery run. Capturing the water droplets in the sunshine is beautiful and it is lovely to take the time to enjoy these things with children as you get to see the world through their eyes. I love the ‘sprout’!
Thank you very much Kirsty, I love a good macro shot. That succulent sadly wasn’t playing the game this week though. The best shot just didn’t work the way I wanted it to. Do take it all in on your nursery run, ours has been changed by trying to spot these little delights π
Beautiful photos! Spring is here-yay!
Thank you and wahay!!! I do hope Spring is here, I’m so over Winter π
I think I can count the frosty mornings we have had this year on the fingers on one hand. Some beautiful pictures as always – this weekend is supposed to be lovely and warm so hopefully some gorgeous sunny pictures for next week
It’s very true Kara, we’ve hardly had any frost at all. I remember missing the only frosty morning we had – was gutted! Hopefully this sunny weather we’re now having will continue next week π
Wow! Your kids must get up very early to have time to take such stunning photos on the way to school! π they are lovely #hdygg
Thank you. We’re up about 45 mins earlier than normal but walking quite slowly as it’s uphill there. POD is rather enjoying chatting away en route to pre-school so it’s good all round π
Stunning macros shots – especially the moss and the “Brussel Sprout!” Your unknown flower at the end is a Camellia. Let’s hope you don’t get too much more frost or it can turn the flowers al brown.
Thank you very much Rosie. I will have a look at Camellia’s – quite interested to see if they ‘do’ anything! Hopefully as it’s warmer now Spring is on it’s way *looks hopeful*
I am in awe! These are such brilliant photos. The one with the moss is my pick of the lot. x
Thank you so much Vaichin, such a lovely thing to say π

Thank you very much, I do like those – no idea what they are mind!
I wish we had such beautiful sights on the way to school! (still snow and slush piles here)
I bet it still looks wonderful Kriss – your photos are always fabulous π
I’ve realised that the school run time can be such a good time for macro shots – that Camellia is stunning- those bursts of colour in the morning make my day. There’s a garden on our way to school that I’m desperate to get into but am too scared to ask the owner!
Great photos, you really do have a great walk to school.
Goodness – how lovely are these? Stunning sweet cheeks – serious photo envy!

Nature is so beautiful.
