Like many children, POD has always been a fan of Disney. Classic films like Beauty and the Beast, Tangled and Snow White are among her favourites along with the more recent including Frozen, Cinderella and Inside Out. It’s not just films either, she’s always loved books with Sleeping Beauty and The Little Mermaid from the Disney Movie Collection in the mix. The latter features Ariel, a mermaid who wants to be human so she can marry a Prince.
The Disney Princess Ariel Bath Styling Head (RRP £24.99) from Just Play is the perfect way to become part of the Merfolk kingdom. Created for girls aged four and over, the Princess can be styled both in and out of the water. POD has been making tea and eating cakes with Mickey Mouse in the bath for a while now so Ariel was certainly destined for water. The styling head has three suction pads around its base so it’s easy to keep in position. The pack also comes with a flower shaped hair comb, 4 hair clips, a sea shell water scoop and a brush. Ariel’s shell necklace is also removable.
POD has recently learnt how to tie back her hair so after a period plaiting (twisting) Ariel’s, she decided it needed washing. Bubbles provided the perfect alternative to shampoo although the nose was inevitably first! Much to POD’s delight however Ariel’s hair changed colour – the dark blue streaks turning to light blue. Not only that, where she’d received a thorough soaking, her eyes and lips had changed too! To five year old POD this was the most amazing transformation. She was thrilled she could then brush and style Ariel’s hair while she chatted to her about Prince Eric and what it was like being a mermaid.
Once she was finished with the styling, naturally using all 4 hair clips, POD showed Ariel her best mermaid impression. This largely consisted of submerging most of her body beneath the water so she was just a face. Beardy bubbles obviously played a part too although that is obligatory when having bubble baths! While Ariel has remained attached to the bath (her kingdom), POD is often in and out to change or tidy her hairstyle. Regardless of whether the bath is full or empty of course! The Disney Princess Ariel Bath Styling Head is most definitely a hit.
