The B&W Photography Project | Week #3

Really loving the Black & White Photography Project, thank you to everyone that joined in last week. And to those of you that enjoyed the Ansel Adams post – he was one awesome photographer!

Although this photograph of POD in a lavender field works well in colour, I just love it in black and white. The contrast of that stripey hat is just wonderful.

How to join in

It’s really easy to get involved with the Black & White Photography Project. Just link up a short post, with or without words, featuring a black and white photograph. You can also link up a collection of black and white photographs if you prefer. The photograph/s can be from any time – new and old images are welcome.

If you don’t fancy linking up a post you can play on Instagram using #bwphotoproject (PODcast is here). You can also share your posts and photos in the Black & White Photography Project Facebook Group.

When?

The Black and White Photography Project runs every Sunday. The Linky is open every week from Sunday through to Saturday. If you include a link back to PODcast I’ll happily share your post for you.

I love it – I saw it in colour and thought it was gorgeous, but in black and white I think it makes me focus more on the child rather than the field. Lovely. Xxx

After seeing your photo in colour – which was gorgeous – I wouldn’t have expected it to work so beautifully in black and white as well!

Really beautiful image, you’re right it does work well in b&w. I’m sorry I haven’t been taking part, I meant to but have been very lazy, basically, with getting my camera out!

I do prefer this shot in colour but you get the feeling of a little girl lost in black and white.

  • Funky Wellies July 27, 2014 at 8:50 pm

Great photo. Although it is in black and white, you can actually “see” the colour of the lavender. Very atmospheric. xx

I love the way lavender comes out so grey in black and white, leaving anything else in its midst to contrast in such a dramatic way. Pod’s hat and hair in the sunlight just leap out at you! X

It is so striking in black and white and really gives a perpective on life and us all just bobbing above the ocean of lavender. Mich x

[…] But through snapping away at the children just throwing water up in the air and letting it fall onto their faces I managed to capture this shot. I have to hand it to Ellie, this freeze frame actually looks like she is commanding water droplets to rise from the pools surface. And she thinks that is pretty darn cool! And I have to admit, so do I! It seems I have a little water bender in the family I am linking this up with Podcasts B&W Photography Project. […]
